Position Description:
Job Summary:
Transfer the Top Box concept into CAD, creating working prototypes and coordinating all the activities necessary for the creation or customization of Top Box assemblies for use in gaming products. Key contact for all the internal departments, external suppliers and customers for the project they are assigned. The engineer may also be responsible for other non-theme related projects within the studio concurrent to the theme based project(s).
Essential Job Functions:
- CAD design in Solidworks
- Creation of mechanical drawings; working with prototype suppliers to build multiple working prototypes
- Create and maintain BOM for project – may include costing estimates
- Presenting work in design reviews, and interdepartmental meetings
- Sourcing prototype components and managing the build or performing the physical labor to assemble multiple working prototypes
- Design experiments to solve engineering problems
- Manage work to meet project deadlines given by studio manager ensuring timely jurisdictional submittals that have a high confidence of approval
- Work with internal departments and external suppliers to develop efficiently manufactured and jurisdictionally approved Top Box assemblies.
- Devise electromechanical and light based objects that entertain, attract, and clearly communicate slot machine game play to casino patrons.
- Work with technical publications and field service to ensure design is serviceable and field convertible within time constraints.
- Work with electrical engineers to incorporate PCB components, cabling, connectors, and avoid heat/reliability related issues.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Required Experience:
- 6 years applied engineering experience
- Successful completion of at least six projects in a design and manufacturing environment
- CAD (3D solid modeling of components and assemblies)
- 2D engineering documentation (ANSI 14.5 preferable)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Self-starting and detail oriented engineer
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a varied audience
- Knowledge of CAD Design principals
- Ability to prioritize and schedule work activities
- Skill in controlling costs
- Knowledge of Solidworks and DBWorks or other PDM software
