Principal Product Manager - Global Payment Acceptance


Are you an experienced product manager who wants to be a part of driving the commerce of ecommerce? Amazon Global Payment Services is looking for a proven product manager to join the team that designs and drives products through positioning, strategy, and direction for Amazon's global payment offerings with a specific focus on international payment acceptance.

As one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world, Amazon processes billions of transactions in more than 12 currencies securely online via a number of payment mechanisms, including credit cards, online and offline direct debit from a bank accounts, and various forms of open and closed loop stored value (including electronic gift certificates). These transactions are processed on behalf of thousands of merchants, including Amazon. Over the past 10 years, Amazon has become known across the globe as the most trusted company on the internet. World-class payment services is a big contributor to the promise of trust for Amazon's customers (buyers, sellers and developers).

As a senior member of our Payment Acceptance team, you will chart the course of enhancing existing global products as well as creating new products and services that solve real world problems for our customers (buyers, sellers and developers) and internal stakeholders (including legal, tax, accounting, treasury and IT security teams). You will ensure that your assigned products meet and exceed the highest processing standards including cost, revenue, security, technical precision and scalability. You will work across the company with existing platform systems and internal clients to enable and develop payment products that grow with our customer and business needs.

You will select, negotiate with and manage our external payment service suppliers (including acquirers, processors, card companies, banks, distribution channels and other financial services providers), balancing collaboration and competition with them. You must be able to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously. A track record of doing this within large organizations is a plus.

You must possess a strong background in payment systems and product development, a strong understanding of the global card acquiring and processing business, and the ability to communicate, coordinate with and influence a range of stakeholders including senior management, product development, system engineering, finance and business development teams. You must have a proven track record of bringing successful payment products to market online or in other direct retailing models.
