Principal Project Officer (One temporary full-time position)

2.    $91,711 to $98,340 p.a.

 

Resource Planning analyses and contributes to the development of government land use policy and legislative proposals, State government planning studies and land use proposals such as protected areas.  It also reviews and provides advice on statutory planning instruments and development proposals regarding their impact on mining tenures, access to resources and mining-related infrastructure.

 

The unit has a leading role in strategic planning for the supply of construction aggregates throughout the State, including analysis and forecasting of construction aggregate demand, identification and assessment of regionally significant extractive resources, and development of planning proposals for their protection.  It also supports the implementation, by local governments, of State Planning Policy 2/07: Protection of Extractive Resources by providing information and advice.
