THE COMPANY:
Our client is a global leader in the semiconductor industry is actively seeking a Principal Radio-Frequency (RF) Design Engineer to join their thriving organization. In this role you will be responsible for designing highly integrated RF Power Amplifiers (PA) that provide the best performance in the cellular market. Candidates that are interested in this role will be responsible for the development of various types of Radio-Frequency (RF) MCM products from architecture design through circuit design, simulations, layout, verification, tuning, validation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Candidates will be responsible for leading or collaborating with other members of the engineering team to develop Radio-Frequency (RF) MCM products as required by marketing specifications.
- Candidates must meet design specifications as well as MRD requirements such as cost target, footprint, and schedule.
- Candidates must also design Radio-Frequency (RF) matching networks, Radio-Frequency (RF) filters, power supply decoupling networks, signal integrity as well as other Radio-Frequency (RF) passive circuits.
- Candidates must be able to model, simulate, measure, correlate Radio-Frequency (RF) circuits to ensure first time success.
- Candidates must contribute to our client's design methodology processes.
- Candidates must be able to participate positively constructively in design reviews.
- Candidates must also be able to collaborate with Design Validation Test group to tune, test, validate products to meet specifications.
- Candidates also need strong board level Radio-Frequency (RF) layout experience.
- Candidates will be responsible for collaborating with Product Engineering groups to transition products from Engineering Prototyping to Mass Production that will also include test correlation yield enhancement.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must have a BSEE a minimum of 10 years of work experience as a Radio-Frequency (RF))/Microwave Engineer. Candidates with a MSEE or a PhD are preferred.
- Candidates must have a familiarity with design, characterization, modeling of custom passive elements.
- Candidates must have experience with package and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) parasitic 7 design issues.
- Candidates must have experience in the use as well as development of high-Q inductors varactors.
- Candidates must be proficient with tools such as ADS, EMPro (or other 3D EM tools), Momentum, GoldenGate.
- Candidates must have strong knowledge of RF tuning, testing, debugging.
- Special preference will be given to candidates who have experience in Radio-Frequency (RF) Power Amplifiers, handset RFIC's for GSM, EDGE, WCDMA as well as experience developing circuits for wireless standards.
- Candidates must have strong communication skills demonstrated success in meeting design deadlines.
- Candidates must have the ability to lead projects from conception through production.
- Candidates ultimately need to be a "self-starter" as well as team player with demonstrated success in a small company environment.
