Principal Software Engineer HP Quality Center

The Principal Engineer in this position provides leadership for the adoption and use of HP Quality Center (QC) in USD. Working under minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude, provides technical expertise in administering QC, development of tools interacting with QC and other systems, developing training and documentation to support USD goals. The candidate will work in a team environment and interact with Test, Program Management, Automation, Development, Quality Management as well as other teams. Overall the candidate should be able to lead projects and mentor less experienced staff. The individual must be well organized and able to work independently and actively participate in multiple team projects. Principal Duties and Responsibilities The position involves all aspects of the Software Development process such as: · Represent the organization on project teams · Perform technical project leadership and mentoring roles · Collaborate well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily shares information · Obtain requirements through discussions with customers · Write functional detailed design specifications based off of requirements · Design and development of tools and reports · Work with customers to develop processes that effectively use QC and promote good use of information · Provide effective support to customers, including documentation, user help, problem resolution and enhancements Skills Required Skills: · 3 to 5 years software development experience with strong object-oriented experience · Use and knowledge of HP Quality Center (rev 10 or 11) at an advance level · Experience in HP QC administration · Knowledge in one or more of the following programming languages: VB.net, Javascript, ASP.net, C# · Knowledge of SQL · Exposure to Microsoft Excel automation · Excellent organizational, verbal and written skills · Ability to work in a team environment · Ability achieve results through consensus, driving decisions and influence Desirable Skills: · Database design and administration · Knowledge in one or more of the following programming languages Perl/Java/C++/C#/Python · Web design experience · Use of API?s to interface with enterprise systems and products Education BS/MS CS, CSE, EE or Related Discipline
