  • Final reviewer/approver of all SW Architecture bids and assessments for the PS IPT SW Team.

    SW Lead:

  • Accomplish role of Project Lead for MCR development activities, to include efforts required to create, update and maintain the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), managing a multi-discipline development team of 5-15 engineers from requirements definition to implementation to requirements verification, and reporting and assisting in problem resolution of schedule issues to management. 
  • Responsible for technical performance of the PS IPT SW Team for both maintenance and development activities, to include identification of risks and generating mitigation plans.
  • Manages content of SW builds (work planning and work prioritization), i.e. DR content, build planning, new requirements into build, changes to UOW scope, etc.
  • Involvement with team members to develop designs for new or modified requirements and to develop solutions to problems
  • Participates in design reviews, facilitates technical interchange meetings, provide process, domain, and software training.
  • Final reviewer/approver of all SW Walkthrough packages for the PS IPT SW Team
  • Be an advocate for SW processes and ensure the PS IPT SW Team adheres to SW processes to include the development, deployment, institutionalization and improvement of software processes, enables, templates, tools, and standards.
  • Provide weekly status (technical and schedule) for tasks of the PS IPT SW Team to IPT Manager
  • Back up support to the IPT Manger in collecting metrics, preparing status, briefing progress, plans and problems, and running staff meetings.
  • RME Section Manager:

  • Responsible for line management duties for the PS IPT SW Team, to include working with PS sub Line Leads and the SW RME Leads of other program domains
  • Advises team members on career development and mentoring
  • Writes performance appraisals and conducts sit-downs performance reviews with team members
  • Provides input to team members on promotion and career advancement opportunities, setting goals, nominating employees for awards, and ensuring all team members are knowledgeable on matters pertaining to the discipline and engineering in general.
  • Staff acquisition in skill needs assessment and planning.  Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring needed staff (college and professional).

    Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of applicable software engineering experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with a planning/scheduling or other type of Mission Management baseline
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact and present technical concepts to senior levels or management and customer organizations.
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, be able to work under deadline constraints requiring rapid turnarounds, and be able to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience with the entire software lifecycle (SW architecture through maintenance phases) and SW processes within IIS
  • Must have current active SSBI Security Clearance

  • Must be a US Citizen

     

    Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Prior experience managing large program development and/or maintenance teams of 15 or more engineers
  • EVMS Certified
  •  Required Education (including Major):

    Bachelor of Science, BS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Math.  Equivalent experience accepted.
