Principal Solution Consultant for Clarity Operations

This individual will be responsible for managing the daily operations of Clarity within the CD BIO Information Management Service Oriented Architecture (IM SOA) group. The position is responsible for working across the information technology (IT), business stakeholders, and vendor organizations to ensure the Clarity application operates efficiently with accuracy, and meets the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for daily operations. To be successful, the individual will need to establish a positive relationship within the IT, business stakeholders, and vendors groups.
This position will be responsible for performing work at a strategic level as well as at a tactical level. The work shall include developing the overall strategic direction for the team as it relates to the daily operations of Clarity. This includes the management of the Extract Load process, database administration, report development, application release and upgrades of the Clarity application.

Essential Functions:
- As part of the management team, this individual will provide input in the development of the overall departmental goals and objectives to ensure they meet the daily operational needs of Clarity.
- Develop a strategy for managing the daily operations of Clarity and enable Clarity data to be available to the users with no disruptions. Develop strong partnership across the IT organization at a national and regional level to ensure strong collaboration across the organization.
- Manage the daily operations of the Extract Load function. This includes prioritizing data errors and developing tactical strategies in managing these errors. The individual will need to define processes for various functions and define process improvements for current processes.
- Manage the administration of the Teradata database supporting the Clarity application. The individual will provide technical guidance to DBAs and manage the vendors who are supporting the database.
- Develop a strategy for working with regional report development groups and align the objectives of the Clarity team with the overall strategy and goals of the national and regional Clarity community.
- Develop and manage a highly-effective team to successfully enable Clarity data to be available to stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management or a related field, or 4 additional years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience working within the Information Technology industry, with at least 5 years of experience working with business stakeholders at various levels within an organization.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in solutions consulting including defining requirements, developing solution alternatives and estimates and translating client's business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for large complex IT solutions.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience developing and deploying large-scale, enterprise-wide applications across diverse geographic locations.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience with software development methodologies, distributed architectures, database management, data and information modeling, and transformation techniques. Knowledge of industry standards and trends on business informatics and analysis.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing daily operations of a data warehouse or data repository that services multiple stakeholders within a matrix environment.
- Experience in managing multiple vendors to provide the level of services specified on the Statement of Work. Experience in assessing vendor performance objectively and align the expectations of Kaiser Permanente and vendor.
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Prior experience in managing day to day operations and production support of an application.
- Prior experience working in the health care IT industry.
- Experience working across a variety of business intelligence tools to include Business Objects, Crystal Reports, and Cognos.
- Experience performing database modeling and design at both a physical and logical level.
- Experience with contract management skills including: negotiations, developing SOWs, and SLA development.
- Experience with process development and documentation.
