1/23/2012 538946-PHTP Washington, DC 1st Active and/or Able to Obtain Background Investigation Yes Individual Contributor Full-Time Negligible NCI: As the Principal Systems/Software Engineer for our federal client, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing system information requirements and design architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements. Highlights and Responsibilities: Perform information analysis, design and development of Information Exchange Package Documents (IEPDs) Design, develop, deploy, and debug software solutions across multiple web based applications Design and deploy application integrations, interfaces and adapters Design, configure, and customize COTs and GOTs applications Design complex databases Design and specify system platforms and network architecture Design and specify required system policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines to effectively own and operate the operational systems Formulate / defines specifications, develops / modifies / maintains complex systems and subsystems, using vendor engineering releases and utilities for overall operational systems Apply analytical techniques when gathering information from users, defining work problems, designing technology solutions, and developing procedures to resolve the problems Analyzes methods of approach and develops complete specifications to enable development staff to prepare required applications Review task requirements, gathers information, analyzes data, prepares project synopses, compares alternatives, prepares specifications, resolves processing problems, coordinates work with developers and engineers, and orients users to new systems Prepares recommendations for system improvement for management and user consideration Requirements: US Citizenship Able to obtain and maintain a government background investigation 5+ years experience and highly specialized in one or more phases of software systems development and systems integration Skilled in Database Management (SQL Server/ORACLE, XML, Other), XML (Schema/Exchanges), Platform/Application Administration (Linux, Windows), Workflow Software (Remedy, Dynamics), and Identity Management (Authentication, Authorization, Directories) Bachelors degree in an IT related Preferred Experience and Education: Active government clearance Advance degree in an IT related field Knowledge and prior experience working with the Information Data Exchange Architecture (IDEA) is highly desired At NCI, we?re more than just a paycheck?
