Specifically, we are looking for subject matter experts to serve as a Principal Engineer and provide outstanding technical leadership to our team of professionals engaged in substation electrical engineering and design for major electric utility clients. This position can be based out of Charlotte, NC, Boston, MA, or Pasadena, CA. Need As a Principal Electrical Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the substation electrical design from the initial conceptual / feasibility study and cost estimating phase through detailed design, installation, and startup phases. As such, you will plan, direct, and supervise the work of our electrical engineers and designers engaged in delivering the electrical and physical design and installation of new and modified high voltage substations, systems, and equipment. The work will entail preparing of high, medium, and low voltage substation (up to 500KV) drawings including one line and three line diagrams, physical equipment arrangement plans, grounding and lighting plans, and defining protective relay and metering schemes for high and medium voltage busses and transformers. This position also entails being engaged in the preparation of high, medium, and low voltage substation equipment procurement, installation, and testing specifications, bid documents, bid evaluations, and contract management. This position also will require participation in proposal development and client business development presentations and meetings. Projects many include integrating sustainable energy generation power sources such as solar photovoltaic and wind turbines to substations. You will assure the electrical design is compliant all applicable codes and regulations and stamp your engineering seal and signature when required by statute or contract.
