Parsons delivers safer, healthier and more sustainable communities. Opportunity Parsons is seeking electrical engineers with significant experience in TD engineering and design. Specifically, we are looking for subject matter experts to serve as a Principal Engineer and provide outstanding technical leadership to our team of professionals engaged in electrical engineering of transmission line designs for major electric utility clients. This position can be based out of Charlotte, NC, Boston, MA, or Pasadena, CA. Need As a Principal Electrical Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the transmission line designs from the initial conceptual / feasibility study and cost estimating phase through detailed design, installation, and startup phases. As such you will plan, direct, and supervise the work of our electrical engineers and designers engaged in delivering the electrical and physical design and installation of new and modified high voltage transmission lines. The work will entail preparing of high, medium, and low voltage substation (up to 345KV) drawings. This position will be engaged in the preparation of transmission line equipment procurement, installation, and testing specifications, bid documents, bid evaluations, and contract management. You will assist in proposal development and client business development presentations and meetings. Projects many include integrating sustainable energy generation power sources such as solar photovoltaic and wind turbines. You will assure the electrical design is compliant all applicable codes and regulations and stamp your engineering seal and signature when required by statute or contract Qualifications 15 years of professional experience in electrical transmission line design Working knowledge of applicable software such as PLS-CAD Extensive knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NERC/RFC as well as applicable NFPA/NEC codes BS in engineering required with electrical engineering and an MS with a power systems emphasis highly preferred PE is highly desired.
