PRINCIPAL / SENIOR MINING ENGINEER – OPEN CUT (Ref No: MW2021)

 

Xstrata Coal Queensland – Brisbane

 

An opportunity exists for a Principal / Senior Mining Engineer (Open-Cut) to join the XCQ Business Development team. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager –Open Cut, you will be primarily responsible for Life of Mine planning for our Rolleston operation.

 

In this role you will have unlimited scope when investigating the Rolleston resource and how to best extract value from it. The business will rely heavily on your guidance regarding strategies and initiatives to achieve this. As such you will be expected to interact and work with many stakeholders including senior management.

 

Ideally, you will have tertiary qualifications in mining engineering and have significant technical and operational experience in open-cut coal operations including a detailed understanding of mine planning tools (software).  You will have the requisite professional technical expertise, influencing and interpersonal skills to ensure your technical advice and input is highly regarded.
