Principle Tax Advisor recruitment
Our client- a global market leader in their industry requires a senior tax professional to join their team on a contract basis. Reporting directly to the General Tax Manager you will have responsibilities for the following:
- Provision of high quality strategic income tax advice to business units in the Asia Pacific region. This includes advice in relation to MA and other corporate initiatives including financing, and advice in relation to development projects and other commercial initiatives
- Provision of technical advice and support in relation to MRRT to coal business units, including documentation of positions taken in implementation and participation in external or tax authority reviews or audits
- Assisting in the coordination of resources across functional and/or global tax teams to ensure delivery of quality advice within set deadlines and will include co-ordination of other tax input as required (stamp duty, indirect tax, transfer pricing) including management of external advisers as approved by the Manager
- Review of material income tax positions taken in the Australian income tax returns
- Proactive identification and delivery of value adding initiatives
- Developing strong working relationships with members of the senior management team of the relevant business units
- Analysing developments in tax laws and providing briefs to both the Tax Team and the business units as required
- Tax review of contracts
- Input into enhancing and maintaining the Group's Tax Policies Procedures
- Co-ordination and management of tax technical training for the Brisbane tax team as well as input into technical training for the wider Asia Pacific group
- Development of staff,
- Assisting the Tax Risk Management team in meeting SOX/compliance requirements.
The successful candidate:
- CA/ CPA/ Masters of Tax qualified or equivalent,
- 8-12 years experience in a corporate tax role with an advisory focus,
- Big 4 background or experience working within a large listed organisation,
- MRRT experience preferable,
- Australian Tax experience absolutely necessary,
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills are an absolute must!
