May perform one or more of the following:
Privacy Officer (PO)
a. Qualifications: shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in corporate privacy
activities that included overseeing the establishment, implementation and adherence to
corporate policies on patient privacy, confidentiality and release of patient information;
experience developing, conducting and reporting privacy risk assessments and internal privacy
audits; experience overseeing the development and delivery of privacy training and awareness
in a government and/or healthcare setting.
In addition, the Privacy Officer shall possess the following:
1) Formal education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (additional management experience
may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis) in Public Administration, Business
Administration, or a related field;
2) Four (4) years’ experience in program organization and administration;
3) Excellent verbal, written and presentation communications skills.
4) Experience implementing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996
Privacy Rule:
5) Experience managing patient privacy disputes and requests for changes to their medical
record;
6) Knowledge of standard audit procedures; and
7) One or more of the following certifications:
a) PMP (Project Management Professional),
b) GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certificate)
c) SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
d) CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
e) CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
 
b. Responsibilities: Principal officer with responsibility for ensuring the Contractor’s adherence to
the FI Contract’s Privacy Office provisions.
