J.P. Morgan Private Banking Asia - Business Manager
Support regional CEO, CFO and relevant Market Managers in financial planning and ongoing performance management, sales management, platform management, project management, people management and other ad-hoc requirements as needed.
Financial planning and ongoing performance management
- Support annual Asia planning and budgeting process, organize and conduct any needed market-level activities and provide market-level color in support of Market Manager and Finance
- Review and ensure accuracy of centrally produced MIS and reports; prepare ad-hoc analysis only when critical to supplement standard MIS/reports
- Identify key trends, gaps vs. plan (including flows, revenues, NNC, expenses) and business strengths and weaknesses and implications; propose mitigants and help drive implementation
Sales management
- Organize and drive market-level sales management and execution of banker priorities, leveraging Asia-wide tools and processes to achieve business objectives and targets
- Drive execution of Asia process for pipeline management, prospecting, deepening, segmentation and referrals; project track results in partnership with Finance
- Perform sales performance analysis (e.g. product penetration, loadings, concentration/risks) in partnership with Finance
- Organize market level meetings and account reviews; track/follow-up on action items
- Review and ensure accuracy of scorecards and pipelines at the market and banker levels, e.g. revenue, flows, NNC and client level details, in partnership with Finance
Project management
- Represent market / platform in NBIAs; escalate key decisions and issues as needed
- Execute events and sponsorships in line with business objectives and approved budget in partnership with Marketing
- Execute / follow-up on senior management requests; support leadership meetings town halls
- Help to strategize and execute on new opportunities as needed
Platform management
- Coordinate KYC / client documentation initiatives, regulatory inspections and responses to regulatory inquiries and local tax changes
- Coordinate with CSS, ACT, Operations, Risk and other Middle Office functions to ensure appropriate support, efficiency and management of business risks
- Assist with real estate (footprint planning, moves, space rationalization and seat assignments); lease and contract negotiations
- Coordinate across markets/locations and with other LOBs as needed
People management
- Work with the Learning and Development team to help with training opportunities/ linking into and leveraging training activities in other areas
- Work with HR to set up a process around interviewing candidates and develop a hiring strategy across all roles/ functions within the team; coordinate onboarding of new hires
Skills
- BA degree in a Finance field required; MBA preferred
- Must have Project Management / Business Management background
- Minimum 7 years of experience within a Private Banking or management consultants who have done sales force effectiveness, ideally in wealth management are welcome to apply
- Strong understanding of the revenue and cost drivers of the Private Banking business and the key metrics
- Highly structured with analytical and problem solving skills; good facility with data
- Able to draw out implications from analysis, link to business objectives and identify then drive improvement initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills. Able to build rapport effectively with different types of people in order to persuade and get buy in for the management agenda
- Delivery focused approach to work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English is critical
