The Engineering Services Department within Westinghouse Electric is currently seeking Probabilistic Risk Assessment Engineers for our San Jose, CA location. In this position, the incumbent can expect to perform the following duties:

- Provide technical leadership/project management in development, performance, and application of risk informed methods based upon a broad understanding and working knowledge of the BWR and ABWR NSSS design and safety systems.

- Create and deliver technical products and services to customers that require integration of team efforts across multifunctional groups.

- Effectively define, manage, and drive projects to successful completion to meet customer needs.

- Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) for complex nuclear power plant systems for existing domestic and international nuclear power plants, as well as supporting new plant designs.

- Develop PRA models and utilize the models in support of risk-informed applications at commercial nuclear power plants.

- Model internal and external events, including fire and flooding events and low power and shutdown modes of operation.

- Prepare computer code input, data analysis, performance of PRA computer modeling, performance of risk informed applications including level 1 and LERF, interpretation of results, preparation of final reports, and regular interface with customers and regulatory bodies to present results of the assessments.

A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:

- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics required; Professional Engineer license is desirable.

-A minimum of 7 years of related experience.

- Experience with PRA computer programs commonly used at commercial nuclear power plants such as CAFTA, RISKMAN, Safety Monitor, and HRA Calculator is required.

- Experience working with the systems designed for BWR and ABWR plant types.

- An understanding of NRC Regulations and requirements for risk informed applications.

- Demonstrated ability to meet project scope, schedule, and budget commitments.

- Effective communication with clients to understand needs and create opportunities for PRA business growth.
