REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

* High school or equivalent education and 6+ years related experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Industrial plant operator or control room operator experience in power or chemical plants, hazardous waste incinerators, waste water treatment facilities, petrochemical plants, boilers or utility systems (i.e., compressed air, electrical distribution, hydraulics, HVAC, bulk chemical storage and distribution, etc.) or related industry.
* Excellent written communication skills; ability to communicate complex information in an understandable manner.
* Demonstrated Technical writing and editing skills and knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, punctuation, and formats
* Excellent software skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and working knowledge of Excel, Access, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional; in particular, knowledge of advanced word processing functions, such as formatting document styles, importing graphic files, table formatting, and using templates
* Ability to distinguish substantive edits, and to identify and apply appropriate level of editing based on considerations such as customer expectations, audience, visibility, and project standards

* Must be a U.S. or Naturalized citizen.

Job Description:
Washington Demilitarization Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of URS is seeking a Procedure Development Specialist for the Bluegrass Chemical Agent Destruction Pilot Plant project located in Richmond, KY.

This position is scheduled to be filled in October, 2012.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

* Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
* Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
* May be required to work overtime or varying hours.
* Work in close proximity to and/or in a chemical demilitarization facility.
* Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.
* Plans and coordinates as necessary to provide professional technical editorial and word processing support for systemization, operations, and closure
* Responsible for complex assignments (which may have time limitations, use technical terminology, be lengthy, and have a wide scope) with limited supervision
* Monitors job progress and alerts responsible supervisor(s) when schedules appear to be in jeopardy
* May provide production data for performance metrics
* Assists other technical editing staff as required
* May review work of other technical editing staff members
* Develop, write, and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment.
* Receives assignment from supervisor, observes production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.
* Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods, and reviews manufacturer's and trade catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment.
* Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
* Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology; and reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
* May perform the following tasks: maintain records and files of work and revisions, select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material; assist in laying out material for publication, arrange for typing, duplication and distribution of material, write speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases, edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or plant personnel.
* May specialize in writing material regarding work methods and procedures.
