The Judge Group has an immediate need for an experienced Process Engineer for a 3+ month contract assignment in Conshohocken, PA.  The successful candidate must have direct experience with large scale fermentation processes in support of biopharmaceutical customers.  Please apply if you are qualified and you will be contacted directly.

Responsibilities:

·         Supervisory and administrative responsibility over a group of engineers or functions as a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced concepts, techniques, and standards for industrial biotech processes. 

·         Responsibilities include assuring effective utilization of engineering personnel, and technical quality. 

·         Participates in the design of a process unit, including establishing process design basis, development of process options and optimization of selected design. 

·         Implements, modifies, and maintains chemical processes: Calculates and organizes data for process flow sheets including instrumentation and control considerations: Models processes and units operations: Ensures proper sequence of operation: Prepares specifications and operating instructions for processing equipment: Develops process flow diagram to define heat and material balance: Develops process specifications, e.g. large scale fermentors, pressure vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, and purification equipment: Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects: Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements: Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:     

·         10+ years of experience required, BS or MS in an engineering discipline, PE registration highly desirable. 

·         Required to have 2+ years of direct experience with large scale fermentation processes, using algal, yeast, or bacteria, to produce nutraceutical, food, platform chemical, or fuel. 

·         Important to possess prior experience in engineering consulting business in support of biopharmaceutical customers.
