PROCESS ENGINEER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for providing engineering technical expertise and analysis pertaining to all process work for a first of its kind operating Plant. Work will include:
· Preparing and maintaining process flow diagrams such as PFD and UFD, including heat and mass balances.
· Specifying equipment and preparing process data sheets.
· Preparing piping and instrument diagrams such as PID's.
· Preparing utility balances and diagrams.
· Preparing hydrostatic test diagrams and systems.
· Executing all process calculations and simulations.
- Designing, observing installation and commissioning of new and used production units (i.e., modifications and upgrades) and troubleshooting existing processes.
- Using computer modeling and simulations to design and evaluate processes and operating systems.
- Monitor day to day unit operations: conduct unit tests to optimize performance.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Operations group.
- Prepare daily yield and operating reports and review for accuracy.
- Comply with all relevant safety and environmental requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college along with 7-15 years of in-depth experience in chemical processes, engineering design and operations found in the petrochemical industries. FCC and hydrotreating experience strongly desired.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with Process Operators, first line supervision, other engineers and management to improve operating performance.
· Knowledgeable in Process Simulation (HYSYS, Aspen Pro-II).
· Demonstrated problem solving skills.
