In addition, the company owns and operates fuel and/or asphalt terminals in Alaska, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin. Flint Hills owns an interest in base oils plant in Louisiana, and a biodiesel feedstock development company in California. In addition to sales offices in North America, the company has a sales presence in Switzerland, Hong Kong and Belgium to serve global customers.
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES EXPECTATIONS:
- Provide technical support to operations on a day-to-day basis in order to meet production goals
- Responsible for key process parameters identification and targets
- Provide support in the development of standard operating procedures
- Participate in Operators' training
- Provide specific unit expertise to Operations and Reliability groups as required
- Provide technical support to EHS
- Participate in Process Safety Management unit revalidations / project HAZOPs as required
- Maximize production yield, optimizing utilities consumption
- Responsible for selection of specific products (catalyst, desiccant, etc.)
- Act as a project team member as required
- Responsible for Decision Making Framework (DMF) development for process and equipment improvement projects
- Accountable for personal work practices that impact Safety and Environmental performance
- Comply with all EHS regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Participate in Safety/Environmental meetings and/or other programs within their organizations as directed by Management
WORK EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 3+ years of engineering experience in a petrochemical or chemical manufacturing facility
- Proficient at analyzing data and possess strong trouble-shooting skills regarding process units
- Must have safe work habits and be environmentally principled
- Must have fundamental economic skills and an attitude that drives decision-making from an economic point of view
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
WORK EXPERIENCE SKILLS PREFERRED:
- Ethylene cracker knowledge
- Refinery experience
- Distillation experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS or UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Climbing heights of up to 180 feet (stairs and ladders) and climbing portable ladders up to 25 feet
- Stooping, bending, crawling, pushing, pulling, squatting
- Walking up and down stairs frequently
- Constantly (2/3 or more of the time) hearing, seeing (acuity - near, far, and depth)
- Exposure to environmental conditions (frequently walking in and outdoors) with exposure to extreme warm and cold temperatures
- Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently
