Position Summary
Under general direction of the Director, Systems Integration and the Vice President, Sales Product Management, supports the Sales and Implementation Organizations by qualifying and refining proposed Technology Solutions for prospective clients, creating a clear vision as to what the client can expect in support of their business issues and desired outcomes. The Process Improvement Engineer develops an understanding of the workflow logistics and business goals at a prospective client organization.
In support of ABC Sales initiatives, the Systems Integration team qualifies an automated solution for improved, cost effective and efficient management of the medication supply chain with a focus on patient safety and quality management. The Process Improvement Engineer must provide a clearly defined Assessment that details the agreed upon solution based on the business issues uncovered and the desired outcomes of the prospective client. The Systems Integration Team will identify the opportunities and recommend workflow activity, identify automation and software integration strategy as well as support implementation at the end of the sales cycle.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- In conjunction with and in the support of ABC Sales Team, deliver a customer specific Assessment qualifying the proposed solution / technology
- Confirm findings and recommendations with client / sales
- Insure the right technology solution meets the goals and objectives of the Client’s organization
- Supports sales initiatives by identifying interface requirements and challenges
- Supports sales initiatives by proposing process and layout changes
- Supports sales and implementation by identifying appropriate customer expectations
- Provides collaborative support to Product Management, RD, Implementation, Technology teams based on observed marketplace needs.
- Provides formal and informal cross training and education for Systems Integration team members.
- Supports ABC Knowledge Management and Training department and Marketing department through contribution to professional training programs, manuals, and sales materials.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
Requires broad training in fields such as engineering, architecture, pharmacy, business administration, health sciences, sales, marketing,; normally requires four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible healthcare experience; pharmacy systems implementation, system configuration, technical integration, and systems analyst experience; some sales experience preferred.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements
- Medication Management systems implementation experience, system configuration, integration analysis, and personnel training.
- Understanding of medication errors and error prevention
- Able to maintain a mature, problem-solving attitude when dealing with conflict
- Interest in and enthusiasm for computerization and its potential for improving departmental and inter-departmental efficiency and medication error prevention.
- Well organized with proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate organizational change
- Ability to use an analytical and systematic approach to issue resolution
- Ability to work as an integral part of a team including Lead role
