Process Technician


The Process Technician is responsible for monitoring, controlling and conducting activities that pertain to unit operation, production schedules and product specifications and taking corrective action when necessary to ensure that all unit conditions and operations are in compliance with site safety, and environmental and operating policies and procedures. Will be expected to demonstrate problem solving skills, basic knowledge of pressures, process flows, and temperatures and have the ability to research reference materials (MSDS, Product Sheets, etc.).   Will work with maintenance team to coordinate equipment repair and perform lock out tag out for unit’s maintenance activity.  Key responsibilities include:
·         Reporting and mitigating any leaks, exposures, accidents, spills or fugitive emissions
·         Making sure to document efforts in accordance with policies and procedures
·         Ensure proper shift relief by providing accurate verbal and written communications to the relieving shift and technician to cover routine, non-routine issues, problems incurred, unit operating conditions, etc.
·         Perform inspections on all equipment and log the findings of those inspections
·         Maintain unit parameters according to all unit permits
·         Proper disposal of all wastes
·         Report near misses or incidents
·         Write regular and safety work orders
·         Use proper PPE
·         Demonstrate good communication with others on the team and with other facilities
·         Know how to implement the Emergency Action Plan and
·         Firm compliance with site safety policies and procedures, taking immediate corrective action if an episode of unsafe behavior is observed – to include Stop Work policy.


·         One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·         Preferred candidate will have at least 2 + years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
·         Forklift license
