GLOBAL FOOD COMPANY IS SEEKING A PRODUCTION/PROCESSING SUPERVISOR IN A LARGE PROCESSING PLANT LOCATED IN THE CINCINNATI AREA.
Supervises day-to-day operations in the Trial Order Department ensuring that both internal and external customer requirements are satisfied. Supervisor is responsible for directing the work flow of all Planning, Material Handling and Processing operations. Supervisor is responsible for clearly communicating departmental objectives, and the individual expectations for all of his subordinates. Support Scale Up Manager with some of the day-to-day responsibilities to allow Manager to complete strategic initiatives. The Supervisor is expected to properly communicate to his Manager and other members of Samples department leadership team.
Essential Responsibilities and Specific Duties (List in order of importance)
Supervision/ follow up direct reports Direct Supervision of all day-to-day Trial Order activities. Maintain and adjust as the business dictates a daily production schedule. Responsible for developing Trial Order Personnel into a strong, high performance team. Communicates expectations to subordinates, hold operators accountable in all phases of operation. Assists Manager in developing and administering Performance Appraisals for the Trial Order Department Operators, Material Handlers, and Planning group. 25%
Establish / maintain the highest quality standards for the department Establish and enforce stringent sanitation and General Housekeeping requirements so that AIB standards, FSSC2200, FDA, and USDA regulations are met throughout the process. Enforce compliance of all GMP, HACCP, and pre-post operational guidelines. 20%
Administer/ Supervise all Environmental Health Safety guidelines Takes a leadership role in training and compliance of all guidelines and regulations. Takes immediate and decisive action against non-compliance. Responsible for preventing accidents by meeting EHS targets including: Near Miss Reporting %, Employee Training, Safety Contacts and timely and accurate completion of all IR Incident Reports. Ensures that action steps resulting from the Root Cause Investigations are completed timely. 15%
Productivity Management/ Measurement Observe, monitor productivity targets vs. actual. Create, maintain and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Investigate and take immediate action to correct circumstances resulting in KPIs dropping below target goals. 10%
Training and Development of the Trial Order Planning, Processing, Liquid Compounding and Material Handling Personnel. Responsible for setting up training plans for all new hires meeting all ISO9001 requirements. Sets departmental goals for cross-training and sets plans in motion to achieve the goals. Oversees the assessment process of all new and cross-trained employees. Maintains complete, accurate and up-to-date records for all departmental training. 10%
Cost Management/Control - Direct Operating Costs for Trial Orders Operations ensuring that costs do NOT exceed budget. These costs include Labor, Temporary labor overtime costs. Packaging, Office manufacturing supplies as well as raw material obsolescence. 10%
Operational Excellence/ Lean Manufacturing Assess/ evaluate processes for inefficiencies or potential hazards utilizing Six Sigma business management strategy. Solicit the help of Flavor Creation, Applications, Maintenance and Engineering to improve the process. Responsible for administering the appropriate funds and signatures necessary for completing improvement. Manages the project from start to finish ensuring timelines are met. 10%

Requirements:
A bachelor degree in a science/technical field preferred. SAP experience a plus. 3-5 years experience in flavor manufacturing or related industry. Must have a minimum of 2-4 years supervisory experience.
