Under direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager processes and distributes all types of manufacturing orders. Working from engineering drawings and order package, the Materials Planner will develop Manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOM), collaborating to make critical make/buy decisions to optimize lead time, manufacturing capabilities and cost.  The planner will coordinate all work packages, resolve engineering design, purchasing, machine/fab shop, and quality assurance inconsistencies. Must be able to prioritize, plan, schedule and arrange short term and long term work tasks.
 
Job Duties:

Prioritize workload to ensure on time delivery
Prepare and maintain manufacturing bill of materials
Perform secondary operations for raw material nesting, paint and solvent calculations, weld consumable calculations, rust inhibitor calculations, etc.
Work closely with inventory control to manage order spikes
Provide feedback to engineering, quality, or purchasing  on bill of material content structure issues
Update item master records for make to stock (M2) and purchase to stock  (P4) parts
Collaborate with manufacturing and manufacturing engineering for optimal make or buy decisions
Prepares and maintains an assortment of records, files, and documentation.
Performs other duties, participates in projects and cross training as assigned by departmental supervision.
