Procurement and Operations Associate recruitment
The Procurement and Operations Associate will:
- Responsible for centrally managing an existing supplier base who supports Fortress’s portfolio, encompassing several vertical markets
- Collaborate with our Portfolio Companies in working on various Sourcing and Operational initiatives as well as ensuring adherence to contract terms, enhancement of business terms based on market conditions, and management of supplier service levels post execution of agreements
- Manage current contracts
- Ensure term and renewal dates are tracked and take action proactively for contract strategy
- Obtain categorical spend data and analyze for savings opportunities
- Develop sourcing strategies
- Prepare and facilitate vendor negotiations
- Maintain contracts and agreements
- Monitor external supply market benchmarks, trends and rates
- Qualify and select suppliers
- Research supply market and new technologies
- Identify members of and coordinate activities of cross-company buying teams
- Implement standard supplier assessment methodology
- Develop and maintain preferred/approved supplier list
- Ensure compliance and driving execution
- Develop, coordinate and lead cross-functional team to execute validation and implementation plans
- Monitor feedback from users regarding quality and service
- Maintain supplier relationships and lead resolution of ongoing issues
- Monitor compliance and identify “maverick” sourcing and spend activity for corrective action
- Monitor and report savings and other performance metric
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing/Sourcing/Operations, contract negotiation, strategic development and competitive cost and price analysis
- Extensive category and market knowledge, specifically Information Technology and Accounting
- Understanding of contracting and RFP processes; supplier management skills; sound organization and communication skills both orally and in writing
- Ability to work across multiple companies/business units to drive change
