Procurement Engineer

Location - Stafford

The Role

Directly under the responsibility of the Global Procurement Platform Manager, the global supplier procurement engineer is to:

• Global Supplier Interface - be the single point of contact
• Collate and verify a consolidated Global forecast from the Manufacturing Units for the supply of material from the nominated Global suppliers. Manage and improve accuracy of forecasting process.
• Arbitrate supply priorities between the Manufacturing Units
• Technical data management to Global suppliers
• To be responsible for the continuous improvement of the process/procedures.
• Play and active role in improvement projects within the Global Supply Chain Community.
• Collect data on delivery performance (commitment performance commitment reliability), lead-time, quality and Manufacturing Unit inventory levels to secure the creation of Global KPI's
• Maintain high levels of communication and collaboration with the Manufacturing Units, Suppliers and the other Global functions
• Ensure the Company's quality, environment health safety policies are communicated, understood and implemented within areas under their control

Educational Requirements

• Degree level education or equivalent

Technical Knowledge/Experience

• Experience in Global Procurement/Inventory Management techniques and Supply Chain Logistics.
• High level of working knowledge of all MS packages and specifically Excel
• High level of working knowledge of SAP PP (Production Planning) and MM (Material Management) Modules and there processes
• Job Location/Mobility Requirements
• The position will be based in Stafford
• Travel to Globally based suppliers and Alstom units will be needed
