Procurement Manager Job in San Jose, California Us

Duties:
*Plans and implement activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials
*Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions
*Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels
*Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services, as well coordinating global procurement efforts
*Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory-carrying costs
*Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
*Strategic development of suppliers
*Supplier selection and qualification, transition of products from engineering to production, project management and overall supplier performance
Requirements:
*Requires up to 50% travel
*3+ years in a technical role (Manufacturing or Development Engineer preferred)
*5+ years in purchasing or materials for complex systems.
*Strong negotiation skills with a proven record of success
*Experience implementing global sourcing initiatives and driving and executing cost reduction programs
*Demonstrated success implementing cost optimization
*Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Electrical, Mechanical or Optical Engineering Degree a plus
*Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent is highly desired
