Procurement Officer - Circa £27K - Wilmslow, Cheshire

The purpose of this role is to support Royal London Group in achieving its corporate objectives by providing procurement based services.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identifying procurement-based opportunities to improve business performance by identifying opportunities to reduce costs and/or improve services
- Undertaking financial analysis of supplier spends to identify strategic synergies
- Identifying supply strategies aimed at supporting delivery of approved business plans
- Maintaining the Procurement policy to ensure the integrity of the procurement process is maintained throughout the procurement lifecycle
- Developing effective sourcing strategies
- Creating strategic partnerships with other RL teams
- Proactively working with business teams to identify opportunities and options aimed at supporting delivery of approved business plans
- Supporting business units, or take the lead where appropriate, with the tactical negotiation to obtain the best deal with suppliers during contract renewals
- Support contract termination as appropriate
- Support Group Legal and contract owner in the finalisation of contract development
Skills and Technical Knowledge required
- Graduate calibre or relevant professional qualification e.g. CIPS
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good analytical skills
- Demonstrable experience of both general and IT Procurement
- Experienced in dealing effectively with third party business suppliers and business management
- Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships
