Procurement Site Lead Job in Los Angeles, California US
Responsibilities:
· Assure that all safety guidelines are met within Procurement Department to accomplish site safety goals
· Responsible for site purchasing activities including contract negotiation, supplier selection, and supplier development for assigned suppliers
· Provide site leadership for the implementation of enterprise and site contracts for raw materials, energy, toll conversions, and manufacturing goods and services
· Investigate sourcing opportunities to develop and lead site cost improvement projects; manageMATcosts and cost reduction results at or better than commitments for site; identify and remove barriers to progress
· Work closely with corporate contract manager to manage supplier performance for key raw materials. Manage and track Procurement operations metrics in Purchasing Quality Management System (PQMS). Own supplier development programs and manage supplier metrics in PQMS.
· Assure that site procurement operations meet internal guidelines, SOX requirements, and external regulatory/legal requirements
· Manage procurement aspects of businessISOquality program requirements
· Implement corporate and local Procurement policies and procedures
· Execute capital procurement activities for critical spares and new equipment to ensure continuity of site manufacturing operations
· Administer procurement card program for site and prepare reports as requested by site management
· Drive continuous improvement to enhance process efficiencies in Purchasing, share best practices, and leverage spend opportunities with other sites
· Lead and develop site Procurement personnel
· Manage Purchasing cost center budget to targets
· Foster relationships with key site leaders and users to clearly understand needs and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction from purchasing services.
· Participate as an active member of Site Leadership Team (SLT) as primary Procurement representative for the facility.
Qualifications:
· Excellent ability to negotiate and close commercial contracts / supply agreements
· Flexible in negotiation style as to adapt to different levels or profiles of counterparts in negotiation
· Strong persuasive skills
· Candidate must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, sharp analytical skills, and robust problem solving skills
Experience
· BS/BA degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing/Logistics, Business, Accounting or Technical Fields
· Advanced degree strongly preferred
· Candidate(s) must have a strong strategic focus with a minimum of 10+ years experience in Procurement with a background in purchasing raw materials and packaging in support of complex manufacturing operations
· Significant management experience required, 7+ years at a minimum
· Working knowledge of procurement systems, purchasing policies/procedures, and purchasing law is required
· PC literate; strong familiarity withSAPis required,SAPpower user is an asset
· Must have abilities in negotiation, team building, innovation, and change management
· Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
· Professional certifications are a plus (APICS, CPIM, etc.)
