Procurement/Contracts Specialist

Dynamic, internationally known client company in the Libertyville area is seeking a customer focused and process oriented Jr. Buyer to join their Purchasing Team. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all goods and services are effectively and efficiently procured in a manner which meets all legal, ethical, and company process guidelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for helping to establish and maintain relationships with Business Units and suppliers to aid in determining the most appropriate and cost efficient solutions based on business needs. Role Responsibilities: - Assists in developing specifications, bid terms and contractual language for the competitive bid process - Reviews the qualifications of potential and current suppliers to determine their ability to meet determined company specifications - Evaluation of bids, selection of vendor and the negotiation of terms and pricing - Experience running RFP's and RFQ's - Reviews requisitions and backup and issue all purchase orders - Assists in reviewing contractual documents, liaison with Legal department regarding contracts - Represents Purchasing in various project meetings as assigned - Tracks and maintains Monthly Savings report based on individual performance - Assures process consistency with company requirements - Develops and implements negotiation strategies - Provides resolution of Purchasing related or vendor related issues - Initiates inquiries and assists the Business Units with future strategic RFP's. - Assists Sr. Buyer and Purchasing Manager as required Working hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent required - 1-3 years of experience in Procurement role - Proficiency in MS-Word, PowerPoint, MS-Outlook - Intermediate to advanced Excel skills - Strong proven negotiation skills - Flexibility and professionalism in dealing with suppliers and internal customers - Organizational skills - Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels within the organization and with outside vendors / suppliers - Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills - Active listening skills, ability to analyze problems, ability to take initiative All candidates must have the following skills and qualifications.
