OptiLink, a division of the Advisory Board Company, provides the automated scheduling, acuity, and productivity tools for managing today's healthcare workforce. All three of these core functions serve to decrease spending and increase satisfaction while maintaining an outstanding quality of care. OptiLink's scheduling system is designed to create reliable schedules that reflect the necessity of the unit, while promoting staff satisfaction by giving them control over their own schedules. Additionally, managers are able to save money and plan according to projected, budgeted, and actual numbers.
Our current opportunity is based in Portland, Oregon.
Product Analyst
The Product Analyst will serve as product support combining domain knowledge, market analysis, and end-user feedback to support the product management team on roadmap development, manage defect reporting and enhancement requests from internal and external customers, and partner with engineers on maintenance releases and production support. The Product Analyst will also develop effective engineering partnerships to meet service standard regarding software production support and troubleshooting. As with the Product Management Team in general, cross-department collaboration with engineering, member services, marketing, and related constituents will be critical to both the Product Analyst's and the program's success.
Responsibilities:
- Regularly evaluate market needs including, but not limited to, industry trends, competitive landscape, legislative requirements, and regulatory standards. Apply this insight to refine the product roadmap as well as the existing sales pitch
- Work closely with senior product management staff on building longer term product development roadmaps, based on member/market feedback and technical feasibility and sustain needs
- Collaborate with clinical and technical staff to conceptualize, prioritize, design, and help execute product enhancements critical to continued growth of the business
- Manage expectations and relationship risk when gathering requirements, researching issues or testing product concepts with customers
- Take an active role in of the product development process by proposing and implementing changes that increase transparency, reliability and efficiency
- Lead presentations and product demos highlighting how the product contributes to solving member business needs
- Ensure that sales pitch and training materials are consistent with product functionality
- Manage User Acceptance testing for all external and internal releases
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ years working in Product Management, Software Development, or a related field
Ideal Qualifications:
- Experience working in a nursing or hospital environment
- Prior experience working within agile software development environment
- Strong analytic skills and ability to translate market findings into new product/enhancement ideas
- Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven experience collaborating with cross functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently while meeting milestones on schedule
