As a Product Analyst your main responsibilities will involve:
Being responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of a retail financial services Product strategy.
The Product Analyst will report to the Product Leader, and will work closely with the Marketing and Operations teams in supporting the development and growth of retail financial services products, as well as liaising with other key functions including Finance, Legal, Compliance, Treasury and Risk.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Product design – support the on-going development and refinement of the retail financial services product portfolio to anticipate/respond to customer demand, industry trends, and regulatory change, through the provision of analysis and insight of those different sources of information
- Pricing strategy - undertake analysis and interpretation of product performance information, and external competitor/market performance that supports the development and implementation of pricing strategies for new/existing products/customers to achieve target volumes returns
- Product performance – develop and maintain dashboards/performance metrics to manage the performance of products, tracking and responding to performance trends. Maintain existing and establish new management information/product performance analytics to support this process
- Treasury funding liaison – work closely with Treasury to analyse portfolio performance, and future funding demands, in order to support the definition of funding targets and associated product requirements/volumes
- Product operational performance – maintain regular tracking metrics of product performance relative to other market players, making recommendations and supporting the development of initiatives where appropriate to respond to this. Work closely with the Operations team to identify likely impact of different product initiatives on customer services through third party provider
- Product forecasting/capacity planning – develop and maintain product forecasting and planning tools and analysis, that will enable both the bank and the third party operations partner to establish and maintain satisfactory levels of customer service
What we will be looking for in you:
We require the successful candidate to have a strong product management background specifically gained whilst working on a product function in a retail financial services environment. Ideally the successful candidate will also have the following experience:
• Strong grounding in broad range of product disciplines – product development, performance analytics, pricing and funding strategies, forecasting and planning, compliance, sales strategy planning
• In-depth knowledge of financial products
• The suitable candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the need to balance commercial and regulatory risk
• Strong evidence of working with multi-stakeholder teams with internal and external resources.
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to energize others
• Established credibility and experience interfacing with senior leadership
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure
• Proven analytical capability
• Highly articulate and confident presenter and communicator
