The area: Product Technical Sales Support
The Product Technical Sales Support (PTSS) team serves as the primary point of contact for our global Sales, Business Development, and Partnerships teams to support our sales organization across all products. We provide tools so that our sales teams can focus on generating revenue and leverage our strong relationships with Google's Tech teams to enable our sales organization to do multi-solution selling, launch and support new products, and help and engage our users.
The role: Product and Technical Sales Support, Partner Technology Manager (PTM)
Partner Technology Managers (PTMs) drive the strategy and technology that enables Google's products through partnerships. From early pilots through wide-scale deployment, each PTM oversees the technical execution of Google partnerships for one product vertical world-wide. Partner Technology Managers are responsible for flawless operation of Google partnerships at the program level, which includes developing strategy, teams and systems, prioritizing projects and resources, balancing business needs versus technical constraints, and driving successful partner product deployments.
As a Partner Technology Manager, you'll be the in-house entrepreneur responsible for incubating and growing Google's latest products and partnerships. You will lead cross-functional teams and work closely with partners to leverage emerging technologies to create unique value. Entrepreneurial and detail-oriented by nature, you're intrigued with the idea of bringing stealth Google products and technologies to market, and you thrive working in small, high-performance teams.
Opportunities available in several areas, including: Search, ads and monetization, Desktop products (Toolbar, Chrome, etc., Android and Mobile products, Books Print, YouTube, Chrome OS, Content acquisition, or Geo products.
Responsibilities:
- Manage programs involving cross-functional teams, focusing on launching new products and services.
- Act as the business and technology expert in your product / business area.
- Drive the architectural design for partner systems and define the processes for engagement with technical partners.
- Drive product functionality to make our strategic partners successful.
- Work across pre-sales and post-sales processes to scale new businesses for a large number of partners.
Requirements:
- BS/MS (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related technical degree with a strong academic record. Start-up and consulting experience a plus. MBA a plus.
- Excellent written and oral business communication skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and new products.
- Comfortable working with senior managers and executives.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent project management and business negotiation skills.
