Role synopsis:
- Product Control is a key control function, accountable for ensuring that trading activities are conducted within a robust control framework.
- This role will report into the Regional Head of Global Derivatives Treasury. The job holder will carry out the daily processes in the areas of deal level exposure, daily PL validation, global exposure and PL reporting Treasury Trading and Q Book.
- The position will provide the appropriate level of oversight and review and ensure both daily and month end integrity of the reported data.
- This role will be key to assuring silent running of controls in Treasury Trading and Q Books, and the post-holder will be involved in projects to drive continuous improvement in this area.
Key accountabilities:
- Calculation and reporting daily Management Information (position and PL) and ensuring consistency with accounting ledgers.
- The continued development and improvement of the system of internal controls through critical evaluation of current controls and processes and utilisation of best practice.
- Performing checks of the daily Finance Dealing Room revaluation rates and other Business Service rate processes.
- Liaison with the Finance Support teams in particular the Wall Street Business Analysts and Product Accountants.
- Delivery of ad-hoc projects to enhance control, analysis and reporting.
- Reconciliation of Management Information to Accounting data on a timely and accurate basis.
- Assisting in the resolution of the financial closing issues.
Essential Education:
- Degree in Accounting / Business or numerate disciple, or formally recognised Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Essential experience and job requirements:
- A minimum 2 years derivatives / treasury product control experience at a Top Investment Bank or Commodities Trading House.
- Prior experience of working in a control function of a trading organisation.
- Attention to detail, ability to work with detailed transactions and accurately control, report and communicate trading activity, decision making, innovative, teamwork.
- Ability to perform in a deadline orientated environment.
- IT (systems) skills (SAP, Business Objects, Excel – Advanced Access).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable criteria qualifications:
- Highly numerate.
- Interest in the Financial Markets – in particular FX Money Markets.
- Reuters and Bloomberg proficiency.
- Wall St Systems knowledge.
