Product Control Analyst – Emissions recruitment

Blue Chip Commodities Trading Company based in Canary Wharf, London, now looking for a Product Control Analysts to join their Emissions Product Control teams. Reporting to the Gas Product Control Manager, key responsibilities for the role of Product Control Analyst are as follows:

- Responsibility for all product control activities associated with one or more trading books (depending on complexity);
- Production of daily exposure and PL, ensuring that all positions and PL moves are clearly understood in line with the trading strategies;
- Producing succinct and informative commentary on the books performance for the Front Office and Management Team;
- Ensuring the accounts are accurate and complete through the month end MI:MA reconciliation and be willing to address the numerous queries from the finance community about the accounts for their books;
- Contributing to process improvement work to streamline the PL reporting framework;
- Developing a deep understanding of their books, the gas, power and emissions markets;
- Developing a strong relationship with the front office, fellow team members and other teams within group;
- Compliance – reporting and control activity to support the trading desk in understanding and controlling trading costs.

The ideal candidate will be at least a graduate from a Top University with a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and 2 years + product control experience, an understanding or experience of the gas, power or emissions market or any physical commodities would be beneficial but not essential. More importantly, you should have excellent product control experience on any asset class. Any accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) would be a distinct advantage. CFA, FRM or other relevant professional qualifications will be considered. You will have good mathematical ability with robust interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work within a team to meet deadlines.

2 years + product control experience is a must for this role, candidates who don’t have a minimum of 2 years product control experience wont be considered.
