A new and exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Product Controller to join a global firm providing financial services specialising in Investment Banking, Wealth Asset Management.
Responsibilities:
Analysis and validation of DAILY PL for Equity Financing Service books/Swaps
Validating, adjusting and reporting daily PL attribution
Review risk daily sensitivity based on PL
Review New business PL
Deliver and discuss PL with traders and senior management
Build a strong relationship with the trading desk and business management
Provide commentary on daily weekly and monthly PL
Liaison with FTB functions to resolve ad hoc issues including trade booking and valuation issues
Regular review of control accounts in balance sheet
Perform monthly balance sheet review and provide commentary on Balance Sheet
Perform monthly PL review and commentary – working day 6 meeting
Perform analytical review on financial disclosure items
Review daily funding report and balance sheet usage in the general ledger
Regular review and analyse funding position of the trading books
Understand accounting methodologies applied with UBS for all products on the Equities portfolio
Develop Equities product knowledge to control swap products in the portfolio
Support New Business initiatives
Participate in process change relating to the FTB process for Equities Business and internal process change within Finance
Development of the robust control frame work for expanding product steams to ensure that projected growth is managed in a controlled fashion
Development of specialist technical knowledge about the product areas
Closely liaise and support with offshore team to ensure the PL production is performed at required standard
Proactively look for methods to improve daily PL validation
Help establish a streamlined flatcash process for exotic books
Ensure compliance with all product control daily requirements such as Caesar certification, SCP submission, Equity Consol submission and commentary
The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of experience in Investment Banking preferably with experience in product control. Be a qualified Accountant with a Bachelor Degree or the equivalent, have excellent attention to detail and sound analytical skills and previous Equity product control experience.
