Product Controller – Equity Financing Products recruitment

Residing within the Equity Financing Products (EFP) GPC function, the main function of the role is to work on various accounting issues arising from existing or new business.

The main role responsibilities are providing technical accounting support, specifically for EFP GPC team, actively participate/lead IED wide accounting projects/initiatives, coordinate NPA governance for EMEA IED.

Responsibilities:
• IED FCG representative for NPAs. This role includes working with risk on the correct prioritisation of NPAs and agreeing the correct allocation of responsibilities,
• Across IED, responsible for supporting the line controllers in completing the NPA process by guidance on the overall process and direction on complex accounting issues,
• Responsible for ensuring EMEA IED FCG is operating in accordance with firm NPA policy,
• Co-ordinating with accounting policy on complex accounting issues,
• Represent finance on projects that encompass the NPA process (such as policy design, harmonisation, procedure development, etc),
• Chair the monthly FCG NPA governance meeting being knowledgeable on individual trades and also present trend data.
• Provide technical accounting support and guidance to IED GPC through training, co-ordination with GASC and acting in an advisory capacity,
• Responsible for project managing and delivering on accounting changes in the line,
• IED accounting representative on global initiatives

Skills Required
• Proven Financial Services experience,
• Broad range of financial product knowledge (with particularly emphasis on equity products),
• Strong understanding of how financial markets operate,
• Has a Risk and Control background,
• Thorough and up-to-date understanding of IFRS, UK US GAAP financial reporting requirements,
• Being able to articulate complex structures and tailor discussions to audience,
• Ability to build cross-firm relationships,
• Confidence in dealing with senior management,
• Qualified Chartered Accountant
