Product Controller recruitment
The position is responsible for ensuring that potentially high risk trading activities are conducted within a robust framework of control. Specific control activities include measuring and reporting trading exposure, daily marking to market PL, reconciling daily Trading Management Information to financial accounts as well as monitoring compliance with delegated authorities.
Your responsibilities would include
- Calculating and reporting daily exposure and profit and loss for the use of management and trading teams
- Communicating the factors driving daily profit and loss and exposure to management trading teams.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with control policies, standards and authority limits
- Reconciling on a timely and accurate basis, the performance as reported in the "middle office" trading system with the monthly accounting results. This includes creating journals for all differences that then will be posted to accounts.
- Facilitating inventory reconciliation for bench marking by ensuring systems consistency and explanation
- Assisting as needed to ensure invoicing, financial settlement and cash forecasting activities are properly controlled.
- Assisting in the resolution of group balancing, financial closing issues, and indirect tax reporting.
The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years experience covering areas of understand trading external markets, compliance assurance, risk management and credit risk management. You must possess an accountancy qualification eg. ACCA, CPA. We are also seeking a confident team player who is excellent at promoting open and effective communications, building networks and a high degree of analytical skills, IFRS and financial/derivatives knowledge , numerical skills and commercial awareness. Experience in a banking or oil gas environment would have an added advantage.
