Position Description

Training Systems and Government Services Business Unit is looking for a recent college graduate with basic knowledge of software configuration management principles, processes and procedures. Job duties for this position include gathering data in support of analysis and verification for software product baselines, software discrepancy change management, software version builds, and software distributions. The successful candidate will also assists with the documentation of Software Configuration and Software Data Management standards, processes and tools, gather customer input data for Software Configuration and Software Data Management requirements for product hardware, software, and engineering design data systems, and gathers data to assist in the resolution of issues with engineering product structure. Works under close supervision.

The successful candidate will have basic experience with Software Configuration Management systems like Git, Subversion, and ClearCase, source control systems, release management planning, and scripting languages like Shell, Python, and Perl. Experience with Linux system administration, C++ windows applications and VC++ creating build systems is desired. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills including written and spoken English as well as the ability to present complex technical topics to diverse groups during conference calls and large meetings. Candidates should have basic understanding of creating an automated build environment for an iterative development process, basic ability to operate and develop in Linux and Windows environments, basic ability to manage multiple high priority tasks with competing priorities, basic debugging and trouble-shooting skills, basic analytical and problem solving skills, and knowledge of general Software Engineering life cycle development methodologies. The successful candidate should be organized and detail-oriented, be a self starter, and have the personality to cooperate with other team members.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Typical Education/Experience

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information

Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science with knowledge of software and hardware engineering processes and webpage design and implementation is preferred. Willingness to work flexible hours when job duties and delivery schedules dictate, minimum travel inside the US may be required, ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance is required. Entry level position suited for recent college graduate, willing to learn new processes and procedures working with the latest technology products for both commercial and military customers.
