Job Description
Product Delivery Support performs as a service provider within Application Infrastructure with the main focus of delivering services designed and built by the Application Infrastructure Architecture-Engineering teams to our customers. In this role PDS manages the scalability of request fulfillment within the boundaries assigned to PDS. The majority of services are sourced to external providers to meet the changing demand.
Within this team we are looking for a Product Delivery Manager to manage the delivery of Swiss Re's database systems services for DB2, MSSQL, Oracle, and Sybase.
In this position you will
* be responsible for the management of our external service providers for several database teams and you will track the quality of contracted
services and negotiate mitigations if needed.
* manage customer/stakeholder relationships by hosting meetings, soliciting customer feedback and reporting project status.
* provide project management leadership for cross tower projects such as migrations, conversions and service introduction.
* align the delivery of products to the overarching service management framework to realize potential cost saving synergies.
* track customer satisfaction and potential issues will be brought to the attention of the Head Product Delivery Support. You will also handle customer complaints.
A solid understanding of technology, service management and the ability to work in a multicultural environment is a must.
We are specifically looking for an energetic person with a flair for leadership, organizing and keeping good contact with the various customers of the Basis team and our internal and external service
providers.
In this role you report to the Head of the Product Delivery Support team. You are interfacing with the various service provider contacts and ensuring proper service delivery according to the agreed service levels and KPIs.
Requirements
* University degree in IT, a similar field or equivalent experience gained in your previous positions
* You are a senior professional with a minimum of 4 years experience in managing and administration of database systems.
* 1-2 years experience in service management
* You have an accurate work style with an eye for detail
* Working know-how of the ITIL framework, ideally ITIL V3 Certified
* You are experienced in the administration of database systems
* Ideally you have already been exposed to a broad range of application platform technologies and products, such as Linux/Solaris, Windows,
Databases, Application Servers
* Experience in orchestrating internal and external providers towards a common deliverable and timeline Service and customer orientation
* Providing services and added value to customers is a challenge you like to accomplish
* You are a strong team player with the ability to autonomously drive tasks and mid-size projects
* Solid experience in communicating and interacting professionally within your team and in interdisciplinary projects (cross-platform)
* You maintain a professional posture also in periods of stress and time pressure.
* You have an analytical and innovative approach to problem solving. Fluency in English both written and spoken with strong communications skills essential. Speaking German is a definite plus.
You understand the need for flexibility of working hours in situations such as project go-lives, maintenance / migration activities or correcting operational issues.
