REPORTS TO: Director, Global Sourcing, Home Fragrance, Promotional Packaging Accessories

OVERVIEW:
Purpose:
Individual contributor role responsible for managing multiple small categories or small volume areas.
Develops new products in the areas of hard goods, soft goods, home décor, gift sets and accessories. Responsibilities include briefing and directing vendors, reviewing Requests for Quotes (RFQs)/negotiating costs, capacity and production planning; working with manager in selecting vendors and awarding business; evaluating product samples; negotiating deliveries in partnership with Operations; reviewing product recommendations with design and merchant teams. Manages timelines by working alongside Commercialization Service partners. Manages all aspects of costing including handling of costs sheets. Successful execution includes delivery of a quality product within development timeline and within brand cost/value objectives. Also assists Manager in development and evaluation of new sourcing strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vendor Relations
- Approve/Review Specs
- Review RFQ-s
- Cost engineer
- Make recommendations on vendor selection and align with manager on awarding business.
- Monitor vendor performance (scorecard)
- Understand capabilities/limitations of existing sources
- Manage conflict/constraints (internal/external) and communicate to manager as needed.
- Negotiates deliveries in partnership w/Ops
- Discuss/Negotiate Costs

Internal (customer) Relations
- Manage conflicts and expectations (with support from manager)
- Communicate to design and merchants on development projects and approvals.
- Responsible for communicating the status (project, costing, key dates in their specific categories)
- Provide project feasibility
- Manage to the timeline
- Establish product ranges/standards

Data Management
- Assist Coordinator in NASF/Optiva (Back-up)
- Cost Spreadsheets
- Freight Calc.
- Knowledge of import implications (duty, quotas)

Negotiations
- Vendor: Negotiate Cost, Timing, Capacity
- Partner: Negotiate Design parameters, expectations and execution
- Internal: RD, Tech services, QA, CSG, PE

Strategic Sourcing
- Partner with manager on execution of Sourcing Strategies
- Awareness (look for) of trends
- Understand Capabilities/Limitations of new sources

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in sourcing and product development in a retail or direct sales organization.
- Bachelors degree in technical or related field (i.e. Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Experience with injectable plastics preferred
