Product Development Engineer - Pump Job ID: 2012-16573 # of Positions: 1 Internal Title: Product Development Engineer, Sr. Position Type: Regular Full Time Category: Manufacturing Location: US-SC-Columbia Travel: Up To 25% Overview: * Analyze design options and choose optimal path * Interpretation and analysis of test results * Intensive supplier interaction * Root cause analysis and problem solving * Supports production if issues arise and implement corrective actions * Works with minimum supervision within the parameters established by the supervisor, may provide task direction to technicians and other assigned with minimal direction and routine reporting Position Purpose and Requirements: Under supervision, provides technical and analytical support to Product Development Engineering. May provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members. Refers problems that cannot be resolved to the next level. Serves as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement may last throughout all stages of a product s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. Focused on Diesel Common Rail Pump development. Basic Requirements: * Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 2 years experience in product design/development; OR * Master s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Additional Requirements: * Ability to travel up to 25% * Ability to coordinate engineering efforts across engineering disciplines * Experience with automotive quality tools such as FMEA, DVPR process, and PPAP process * Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, and MS Powerpoint * Ability to lead design reviews * Experience with manufacturing process * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, organized and self-disciplined * Positive Attitude, Ethics and International Values which support our company's values, and a healthy, high performance culture Desired Skills: * Advanced knowledge CAD design tools, Unigraphics preferred * At least 5 years of experience in the field of development of Diesel Common Rail Pumps Competencies: * Positive Attitude * Ethics and Navistar's Values * Action Oriented * Timely Decision Making * Functional/Technical Skills * Integrity and Trust Visit us at www.Navistar.com to discover more about our organization.
