Product Development Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer
MSI is a leader in the design, development and manufacturing of high performance sonar transducers for defense and commercial applications. Based in Littleton, MA, MSI has an immediate opening for a Product Development Engineer to serve its worldwide commercial and defense customers.
As a member of the business development team, you will work directly with customers and engineering to define, develop, and propose custom transducer and array designs for some of the world’s most advanced sonar systems.
The successful candidate will have a very strong background in engineering design and analysis, proven conceptual design skills, and a strong interest in working directly with customers on a daily basis. He/she will be a self-motivated team player.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Serve as the primary point of customer contact in establishing performance specifications and developing unique transducer design concepts
· Prepare quotations for custom sonar transducers and arrays by working with the Director of Business Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing
· Review and negotiate commercial and government contracts
· Manage customer accounts
· Maintain regular customer contact
· Coordinate and participate in trade shows, conferences, and customer visits
· Prepare press releases and other marketing material
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:
· BS degree in electrical, mechanical or acoustics engineering
· 7+ years engineering experience
· Knowledge of acoustics, sonar, and transducer design desirable
· Experience in commercial and military technical sales
· Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
· Positive customer-focused attitude and excellent people skills
· Willingness to travel within the US and internationally
· Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance
