Product Director-Payer Market Job in Saint Louis, Missouri US


The Product Growth Manager will be responsible for the development, innovation and management of the product portfolio for their assigned markets. This position reports directly to the Regional Vice President of Product and Innovation. The position is responsible for understanding the competitive landscape in the assigned geography, including products, pricing, medical economics, brand, and distribution, and executing on the needs of their local markets. The Product Growth Manager is a customer-facing role and will work closely with sales, health plan leadership, and brokers to identify product and growth opportunities, package those opportunities into executable ideas, and drive the development and subsequent product management process.

This position will:
- Cover a distinct geography, where they are expected to understand major competitors, overall customer needs, delivery systems, distribution channels, and the regulatory environment.
- Identify areas where new products will meet the needs of emerging customer bases or the changing needs of existing UHCG customers.
- Gather feedback from health plan and other leadership, sales, brokers, consultants, providers, and industry sources, and turn this feedback into data we can use to evaluate opportunities.
- Prepare product development documents for ideas that receive positive endorsements, for presentation at Growth Committee meetings. Effectively communicate how the proposed product will contribute to growth and profitability in the market or region.
- Responsible for preparing the product specifications, and working with the implementation teams to eliminate ambiguity regarding the details of the product initiative.
- Work with the National Product Development Team(s) to understand how global ideas and emerging technologies can best be implemented in specific markets.

Responsibilities include:

- Under the direction of the Regional Product Leader, execute the local product portfolios and growth strategies (including identification of risks and opportunities, and problem resolution).
- Primary interface with Local Sales Leadership, multiple business functions and all fully insured business segments (with particular focus on Small Business and Key Accounts) and Product Family leads.
- Primary interface and "source of truth" at the market level to the Product Infrastructure Team, and responsible for technical execution of a product introduction and roll-out.
- Drive specifications and timelines essential to growth and overall roll-out success
- Under the direction of the Regional Product Leader, assimilate and/or incorporate available product, customer and consumer research, field competitive intelligence, and product/sales performance indicators to understand business opportunities and risks as product portfolio(s) are developed and rolled-out.
- Maintenance of existing product portfolio, including evaluation of the need for changes, sunsetting, re-packaging, etc.
- Develop disciplined evaluation process for each health plan and line of business, to ensure products conform to existing market and UHC best practices.
- Propose changes, secure approval from Product, Sales, and Underwriting leadership, and drive the change process through the Implementation team.

7-10 years successful product development, management, operations and/or strategic marketing experience developing and/or managing multiple products and services (healthcare industry experience strongly preferred).
