Product Documentation Manager – Asset Management recruitment

JPMorgan was the one of the first fund managers to launch an open architecture fund platform. The JP Morgan Wealth Manager+ fund platform was opened in 2009. The platform offers a number of wrapper products including ISA, Junior ISA, SIPP and an Investment Account.

JPMorgan is now looking to expand its product suite with a range of discretionary managed portfolios for the intermediated market which will be managed and administered on the same platform.

This is a role for a documentation manager, reporting to the Head of UK Product Development, who will be responsible for the drafting of the client facing legal documents and application forms for the proposed discretionary managed portfolios and making any amendments to the existing of the terms and conditions and application forms of the wrapper products.

Main responsibilities and duties

• Drafting and owning the client facing legal documentation (including application forms) associated with putting in place discretionary managed portfolios administered on a platform and ensuring appropriate updates to existing wrapper documents to ensure the discretionary portfolios are properly captured as investments of these wrapper products.

• The work will particularly involve working alongside platform and traditional product development managers to ensure regulatory requirements and documentation issues are addressed and also in a wider multi-functional environment to ensure the products meet JPMorgan and regulatory standards.

Essential experience

• Experience in the asset management industry and, in particular, experience in drafting/maintaining wrapper documentation. The ideal candidate may have a background in any of product development, product management, legal, risk or compliance.

• Preferably experience of drafting legal documents and managing the agreement of those documents across multiple functions in a controlled manner.

• Credibility and proven ability to engage with stakeholders across the business.

We are particularly interested in applications from people currently working in asset management in pooled fund/platform product development and management, legal, risk or compliance, preferably with experience of FSA/HMRC regulations and legal drafting. 

Essential skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Proficient in Microsoft “Word”

• High attention to detail.

• Accurate proof reading.

• Good influencing and interpersonal skills; comfort in working with people at all levels across all functions.

• Proven project management skills

Essential knowledge

• Good technical capability in FSA/HMRC regulations.

• A broad understanding of securities and instruments, portfolio management techniques, investment processes, and investment management products.
