Within the Regional Quality Center Europe (RQC-E) there are three departments responsible for providing services to the different NXP business lines and fabs. The principal Packaging Diagnostics and Circuit Access engineer position is within the Failure Analysis Department. Our experts perform failure analysis on all NXP products; Discrete, Bipolar, BiCMOS, Logic, RF, ABCD-SOI and CMOS processes with analogue, digital and embedded volatile and non-volatile memories down to 65 nm technology.

The main tasks of the engineer are to perform non-destructive diagnostics at the package level.
Supports the whole FA department with the circuit access methods and supports re-packaging of failing products into a simpler or more suitable package for fault localization in close cooperation with the Sample Center Nijmegen.

Applies knowledge of material science and assembly technology to develop FA methods for both circuit access and package analysis. Responsible for deploying these methods into general practice by training and coaching of FA engineers RQC worldwide.
The engineer participates in multidisciplinary teams with fab’s or business partners.

Bsc/Msc degree (physics, chemistry and material sciences). 3-5 years experience in assembly of semiconductor devices (bonding, packaging) and/or Failure Analysis. Experience of materials properties (electrical, chemical, thermo-mechanical) and their interaction in assemblies over IC lifetime
Hands-on experience and – mentality is needed

Good organizational skills and high level of independence. Analytical thinker and problem solver. Creative, taking initiative, high drive and result oriented. Strong in communication, interaction, presentation and reporting. Ambition to become a specialist in this area and good command of spoken and written English language.
