Position Title
Product Engineer
Overview
DLC, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Product Engineer. This position will provide support for a series of product families currently manufactured at DLC’s Central Point, OR facility. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with assembly, engineering and management personnel, while monitoring and improving production performance on select DLC products.
Job Functions
Product Line Manufacturing Support – Provide product engineering support to DLC manufacturing in the following areas;
- Production yields – Provide regular reporting of production yields and coordinate improvement efforts.
- Waste management – Provide regular engineering analysis of waste material, identify areas for improvement and coordinate waste reduction efforts.
- Production efficiency – Provide regular analysis of production times and coordinate improvement efforts.
- Training – Train assembly personnel on new and revised product assembly methods.
- Production documentation – Develop and maintain assembly documentation.
- Product issues – Provide engineering troubleshooting and failure analysis for product manufacturing issues.
Product Manufacturing Development – Coordinate with engineering and assembly staff to support development in the following areas:
- Waste reduction – Develop and implement waste reduction projects.
- Process efficiency – Implement and monitor the results of process efficiency projects.
- New product scale-up – Coordinate with engineering and assembly personnel to transfer new products to the manufacturing floor.
Qualifications
- A BS degree or higher in an engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, or industrial preferred).
- A minimum of three years experience providing engineering support in a manufacturing environment.
- An understanding of statistical analysis and presentation techniques.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis methodology.
- The ability to work with small electronic, mechanical, and optical assemblies.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working within a Microsoft Windows operating system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Labview Programming (desired).
