PURPOSE:
- Electronics manufacturing product engineer who applies experience and knowledge to manufactured product for printed circuit board assemblies.
- This individual has a thorough understanding of electronic assembly and design variables which affect product quality.
- Establishes manufacturing processes and documentation, improves manufacturing techniques, and introduces new process equipment to production.
- Knowledgeable in systematic problem solving techniques (PDCA, SPC tools, etc).
- Must be able to present and communicate technical issues to customers/peers.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES:
- Development and introduction of new processes as applicable to PCBA manufacturing
- Responsibility for all technical documentation (ECO’s, MPI’s, WI’s etc.)
- Product Quality data management (Production, MRB, RMA, CAR)
- Customer interface as required for specified products and processes
- Spec equipment, provide line layouts, and assist with setup
- Implementation of Best Practices
- Cost reduction activities
- Manage product life cycle within Engineering
- Technical Project Management for Special Projects
- Scope wide variety of manufacturing related projects and ensure completion within targeted guidelines
- End-to-end ownership of specified product and processes
- Participate to activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements utilizing Lean, Six Sigma and other methodologies
- Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities
- Interface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer
- Development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer
- Handle product transfer and new product set up
- Others as assigned
REQUIRED (MUST-HAVE) QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment utilized for all PCBA operations (i.e. Solder print, automated pick place, AOI, AXI, wave solder, etc.)
- Hands-on experience working a production/manufacturing environment including Lean Manufacturing.
- Possess excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal and customer-oriented skills.
- Production setup and process flow implementation experience.
- Basic software skills.
- Experience structuring of Bills of Materials (BOM) and Approve Manufacturers List (AML)
- 4-Yr degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, etc) and 5 yrs experience in a manufacturing environment required.
DESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree in Engineering
- Six Sigma methodology a plus
