Team Overview

The product support team for the Equity investment team is based in London and is an integral part of the global equities business. They directly support the two product managers, preparing documents or data for them as needed. They also provide a conduit between the investment team and other teams around the business, including distribution, marketing, client or consultant relationship management and new business development. The team provides a wide range of services and are involved in a wide spectrum of activities. These include client servicing, communication to a variety of audiences, new business tenders, new client pitches and new client take on operations.

Key responsibilities of role

•  Working with RFP teams worldwide to provide product specific input into RFPs

•  Data manipulation and analysis (e.g. performance/attribution and portfolio)

•  Preparing client reporting packages

•  Preparing PowerPoint presentations for client reviews, business development or internal meetings

•  Providing general assistance for the two product managers and the investment team

•  Liaison with local or overseas offices on servicing existing clients or bringing new ones on board

•  Liaison with other teams around the business on an ad hoc basis (e.g. performance, marketing)

•  Maintenance of regular product-related materials or client data records

•  Involvement in projects and initiatives (e.g. competitor analysis)

Skills Required

•  Prior experience working in a product, investment writing or RFP team within asset management

•  Understanding of the asset management industry and equity investing

•  Demonstrable analytical and numerical skills

•  Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

•  Microsoft Office essential, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint

•  Ability to work on own initiative, managing deadlines and prioritising

•  High level of interpersonal / relationship management skills

•  Excellent oral and written communication skills

•  Team player willing to share tasks and balance workload amongst the team

•  Proactive and flexible approach to tasks

•  Knowledge of other systems an advantage, such as FactSet, DataStream, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Micropal or Lipper

•  Experience with information databases an advantage, for example a RFP answer store or investment consultant asset manager information databases

•  Education to degree level or equivalent

•  Investment Management Certificate (or equivalent) desirable
