Product Governance Manager
Our client, a Global Wealth Management and Private Banking organisation is looking to hire a Product Governance Manager to be based in Hong Kong on an initial contract basis with a view to the role becoming permanent after 6 months.
The product manager will have overall responsibility and accountability for managing one or two products. They will work closely with other Product Governance Managers and the business in ensuring the overall governance and oversight responsibilities of product management.
The product manager will be responsible for all day-to-day product related activities and will require a detailed technical knowledge of the products they look after.
This role includes issue/action management for Product Variations, Product Reviews and on-going documented evidence of product management decisions under bau or formal governance.
The relevant audit trail for products will include all phases of the life cycle including corporate strategy, market analysis, product strategy, design, manufacture, risk assessment, launch and distribution, maintenance and discontinuance.
Relevant competencies
The following are some of the key disciplines and characteristics which may be ideally suited to each role:
- Product experience in the following areas investments, banking, treasury, tax advisory
- Broad experience of risk management and governance (risk assessment processes)
- Detail oriented
- Strong organisational skills
- Analytical and willing to challenge the norm
- Advanced ability to document technical information clearly and articulately
- Sufficient technical product knowledge and presence to negotiate on technical subjects with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Strong industry and regulatory awareness
- Understands the requirement to adopt a balanced approach of commercial and customer considerations when dealing with products
