Product Innovation Manager

Responsiblities: Internal pulse: Lead cross functional innovation teams. Solicit ideas from Marketing, Sales and Engineering teams. Acts as point for North America Innovation corporate objective. External pulse: Research technology advances, market trends, industry trends, competitive situations. Conduct qualitative research. Seek out business partners, technology partners and follow through with analysis and business case. Conceive of new product ideas, research, evaluate and conduct analysis. Develop concepts. Conduct feasibility assessment with focus on market, competition, Intermatic competencies, technical viability, cost/benefit and financial implications. Anticipate future trends and shifts in markets, industry and competitive landscape. Establish and maintain technology, Industry, Educational alliances. Develop appropriate terms and conditions for research conducted with outside groups. Contribute to white papers and thought leadership pieces. Support other Marketing activities as needed. Supervisory Responsibilites: Innovation team members Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; MBA strongly preferred Five to ten years related experience. B2B experience in a company that sells through distribution is desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong Microsoft Word, Excel,and PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required due to the analytical nature of this position. Ability to communicate with all audiences technical and non-technical. Ability to multi-task has strong time management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment. Strong research and date analysis skills are required. Willing to explore options and visualize new possibilities. Demonstrate success in commercializing new technologies in product portfolios. Relevant business and technical experience driving products and technologies from concept through justification. Team player: builds group cohesiveness; reinforces the value of participation and team involvement; demonstrates an appreciation for different points of view. Must be flexible, innovative and have a strong work ethic. Electrical product background is preferred. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Physical Demand and Work Environment: Ability to travel 25% interstate travel and minimal international travel may be required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position regularly requires walking and standing for long periods of time.
